EnterUp transforms entrepreneurial learning with a mobile app based on an intelligent chatbot, combining AI and gamification to guide entrepreneurs toward success. I took the UX and mobile interface from 0 to 1, starting with a design sprint and validating it through 20 qualitative user tests across three personas.
CLIENT
EnterUp was born from a collaboration between three experts from different sectors, united by a common conviction: to revolutionize entrepreneurial learning. Together, they imagined an innovative solution.
CONTEXT
Built in 2020-2021, before generative AI chatbots were part of everyday products, EnterUp's founders were betting on AI-supported, gamified coaching for entrepreneurs well ahead of the curve. The app aimed to help entrepreneurs and their teams progress on four key pillars: time, money, priorities, and team management.
During a work-study program within a company, I collaborated with another UX/UI designer who was also a work-study apprentice. She was in charge of the visual identity (logo, colors, illustrations), while I focused on the UX and the design of the mobile interface. We were supervised by a project manager/Product Designer who ensured the overall coordination of the project. The project ran in two phases: a design sprint that set the first chatbot screen and home page, followed by production work, personas, use cases, a detailed user flow, wireframes, a backlog structuring every epic, and a high-fidelity prototype focused on two key chatbot journeys.
PROBLEM
The main challenge of EnterUp was to provide an accessible and engaging app to help entrepreneurs train effectively. The challenge was twofold: structure a fluid user journey in the form of a chatbot and ensure quick understanding of key concepts without overloading the interface.
SOLUTION
To meet these challenges, we designed an intuitive mobile interface centered on an interactive chatbot. Thanks to a systemic approach, the user progresses on four key pillars of entrepreneurship while benefiting from a personalized, gamified, and AI-supported learning experience.
The challenge was structuring a fluid user journey in the form of a chatbot while keeping key concepts easy to grasp fast, for time-poor entrepreneurs who don't want to learn a new dashboard. A conversational format lowered that barrier compared to a traditional menu-based structure.
Entrepreneurship coaching is open-ended and can sprawl. Structuring everything around four concrete pillars, time, money, priorities, and team management, gave the chatbot content, the gamification, and the backlog a fixed shape to build against instead of an unbounded scope.
The backlog covered every epic, but with limited work-study resources, we took two representative chatbot journeys to high fidelity first, to validate the core interaction pattern with real users before building out every pillar.
A few months after the prototype was ready, I ran 20 qualitative user tests, one-on-one video calls, an hour each, split across the three personas we'd defined earlier. I used Maze to collect and analyze the feedback, which fed directly into refining the experience and validating the core chatbot interactions.
I worked on the user experience and mobile interface of EnterUp, in collaboration with another UX/UI designer in a work-study program, who handled the graphic design. Together, under the direction of a Product Designer, we structured the application around an interactive chatbot aimed at entrepreneurs and their teams. Thanks to this iterative approach, we were able to refine the experience and validate key interactions, ensuring an engaging and effective solution for users.
